Spring cleanup and design campaigns timed to the last frost, which has moved from late March to early May. Maintenance contracts sell now.

In 2025, the last spring frost was 8 Apr and the first fall freeze 9 Nov. Across ten years the frost moved from 23 March to 9 May, so cleanup campaigns follow the forecast.

How we market snow

O'Hare had almost three times as much snow in 2018-19 as in 2024-25. Seasonal contracts smooth that swing for you and your clients, and they are signed before the first flake.

  • August to October: commercial snow contract campaigns to property managers, HOAs and retail sites
  • October to November: residential seasonal plans with clear per-season and per-push prices
  • On forecast days: call-only ads for one-time pushes in your ZIP codes
  • In winter: spring design consultations booked while crews are idle

Questions Chicago landscapers ask

How do landscaping companies in Chicago get more leads?

By selling each season before it starts. At O'Hare the last spring frost has come anywhere from late March to early May, the first fall freeze from mid-October to late November, and winters have brought from about 18 to 50 inches of snow (NOAA, 2016 to 2025). The companies that win open cleanup and design bookings before each window, sign snow contracts in the fall, and show real finished projects on pages built per suburb and service.

When should landscapers start marketing in Chicago?

Design and build campaigns work best in late winter, cleanup campaigns two to three weeks before the usual last frost in mid to late April, and commercial snow contracts from late summer, before the first snowfall. Maintenance plans sell to every cleanup and install customer.

Should Chicago landscapers sell snow removal?

If you have the crews and equipment, yes, but plan for swings. Full Chicago winters from 2016-17 to 2024-25 brought between 17.6 and 49.5 inches of snow at O'Hare, so seasonal contracts give steadier revenue than per-push work alone, and both should be marketed before the first snow.

Do you need a permit for a patio or retaining wall in Chicago?

Usually not for typical residential work. Chicago's Department of Buildings exempts concrete or brick patios and walks up to 30 inches above grade, retaining walls up to 4 feet tall, planting and low-voltage landscape lighting at homes up to four stories. Landmark properties can lose the exemption, and parkway trees need a forestry permit.

Do you guarantee landscaping leads?

Yes, for Chicago trades: 30 qualified leads in 90 days, or no management fee. A qualified lead is a live caller or a reachable form in your service ZIP codes asking for work you do, including property managers requesting a bid. Spam, duplicates, out-of-area calls and job seekers do not count.

What does landscaping marketing cost in Chicago?

Campaign management starts at $3,500 a month and search at $3,000 a month. Ad spend is paid directly to Google and Meta in accounts you own, with no markup. Project and drone film starts at $15,000. You can leave after any monthly review.

Do you film our projects?

Yes. Our own crew films finished patios, gardens, walls and lighting, including drone footage with FAA-certified pilots, so every ad and page shows your work rather than stock photos.

Have you worked with Chicago landscapers before?

Not with one we can name yet. Most of our work is real estate and construction, where we film landscape and site work, run lead campaigns and build the pages buyers check. The lead guarantee exists so you do not have to take that on trust.
