Construction marketing for New York contractors chasing owner bid lists

New York owners and primes choose bidders from prequalified lists, and we build the documented proof that gets a contractor onto them and keeps it there.

The School Construction Authority only lets prime contractors bid if they are prequalified on bid-opening day, and that status lasts three years. Big design-build teams and private owners run their own screens. We film your work, write the project pages and keep your firm visible to whoever builds those lists, with a Chicago crew that travels to your sites. See construction marketing.

Prequalification reviewers and owners want recent, comparable work. These are the approvals to clear before we shoot it in New York. Choose the kind of footage.

7 days
before the shoot: the earliest step to start, counting the longest lead time below
  1. Written sign-off from the owner and GC on what may be shownNo fee
7 days ahead · our buffer for approvals
  2. Safety orientation with the site superintendentNo fee
2 days ahead · we follow the site safety plan

Day counts mix the city's rules with our own planning buffer, as of October 2026. Handheld cameras and tripods that leave at least eight feet of sidewalk clear need no city film permit.

Public programs New York trades are bidding into

Big public jobs go to design-build teams and primes, who then buy out trade packages. Knowing who holds the contract is half of a subcontractor's pitch.

Your next contract starts with someone else's shortlist

Most trades I meet treat marketing as yard signs and a logo. In New York the decision often happens earlier, when an estimator at a prime decides whose number to ask for.

That estimator looks you up. If the site shows a finished school, a safety record and the people who ran the job, you are on the list. If it shows stock photos, you are not.

We have not worked for a New York contractor yet. What we bring is the film crew and the search work that, for one Chicago developer, lifted Google impressions 693% in a single quarter.

Before you apply for prequalification or a bid list

What reviewers and estimators can check about your firm in five minutes online.

Project pages for recent jobs, each with owner type, value band, dates and your scope
Photos and film from those jobs, cleared in writing with the owner
Your safety program described plainly, with the training your crews hold
Named project managers and superintendents, with bios
Proof of time in business; the SCA asks for at least two years
Apprenticeship participation stated, since the SCA weighs it
Trades and boroughs served, matching the categories on your application
A contact that reaches an estimator the same day

New York contractors ask

Three years. The SCA asks firms to start requalifying at least six months before it expires. Prime contractors must be prequalified when bids open, and named subcontractors on work of $1 million or more must be prequalified at that level.

At least two years in business, quality and timeliness of past work, financial capacity, safety record, integrity and participation in state-approved apprenticeship programs, with an exception for firms only in the SCA mentor program. Your website should support every one of those.

Through the primes and design-build teams that hold the contracts, such as Tutor Perini, DeMatteis and Connect Plus Partners. Their estimators shortlist trades, so your project pages need to answer their questions before they call.

Yes, with the owner's and GC's written consent and after a safety briefing. Drone shots need an NYPD takeoff permit filed 30 days ahead, or 14 days for some eligible applicants.

Monthly search work from $3,000, monthly social from $3,500, and a project film quoted inside our $15,000 to $50,000 band. All of it is listed on pricing, and nobody signs for a full year.
