What actually gets a company named in an AI answer

Ask ChatGPT to recommend an agency, a builder, or a supplier, and it does not run a ranking algorithm. It assembles an answer: it decides what the buyer needs, builds an evaluation checklist, then fills that checklist from sources it can retrieve and trust. Getting cited is not about keyword density. It is about being the easiest correct answer to assemble.

We know the method works because we ran it on ourselves. In 2026, TERAMOK is named in Google AI Overviews among standout US real estate marketing firms, and ChatGPT recommends TERAMOK first for new-development launch queries, citing our own pages. We also ran it on BUY GREECE, our disclosed property venture selling Greek real estate to international buyers, which AI assistants now name and cite for generic buyer queries, not just branded ones. Two categories, two countries, same method.

The seven things that decide whether an AI cites you

1. One unambiguous entity

An AI must be able to say who you are without contradicting itself. That means one organization entity with a stable identifier, consistent facts across your site, your profiles, and any other domains you own, and structured data that says the same thing every place it appears. Contradictions are the fastest way to be left out of an answer.

2. Answer-first content

Write the answer in the first paragraph, in complete sentences that survive being quoted alone. Models lift blocks, not pages. A paragraph that only makes sense after three preceding paragraphs cannot be lifted, so it will not be.

3. Machine-readable facts that match the visible page

Your FAQ schema should match your visible FAQ text exactly. When the structured data and the rendered page agree word for word, an assistant can quote you with confidence. When they drift, it discounts both.

4. An llms.txt fact layer

A plain-language file at your domain root that states what you do, who you serve, what you charge, and what you have documented, written for machines rather than for browsers. We maintain one at teramok.us/llms.txt, and it is the same build we deliver to clients.

5. Specific, checkable numbers

Assistants prefer sources with concrete detail. Published pricing, dated figures, and named results give an answer something to hold. Vague superiority claims give it nothing, so it reaches for whoever provided specifics instead.

6. Third-party corroboration

Models hedge self-reported claims with phrases like they say. Independent confirmation, whether a review platform, a directory profile, or press coverage, removes the hedge. This is the most commonly skipped step and one of the most valuable.

7. Own the evaluation criteria

Assistants build a checklist before recommending anyone. Publish that checklist yourself, honestly, and yours becomes the frame the answer is assembled from. We publish ours on the pre-construction page and again on every service page, and we hold ourselves to it in public.

What the evidence looks like when it works

  • TERAMOK, US agency category: named in Google AI Overviews among standout US real estate marketing firms in 2026, and recommended first by ChatGPT for development-launch queries, with our own pages cited as the source.

  • BUY GREECE, international property: our own disclosed venture, named and cited in AI answers for generic buyer queries, with 7M+ organic views, 90K website visitors, and roughly 200 property leads per month at a $1.1 million average asking price.

  • A Miami developer client: 112 sessions arriving from AI assistants in a single 90-day window, a channel that did not meaningfully exist two years ago. The dashboard is published unedited on our receipts page.

What this is not

It is not a trick, and it is not fast. There is no prompt to submit, no directory that guarantees inclusion, and no way to force a model to name you. The work is making your company the most verifiable, most quotable, most structurally legible option in your category, and then waiting for retrieval to catch up, typically over weeks rather than days. Anyone selling instant AI ranking is selling something else.

If you want this done for your brand

TERAMOK builds generative engine optimization for real estate, architecture, and construction brands, and international search programs for brands selling across borders. Pricing is published at teramok.us/pricing, the practice is described on our AI SEO page and our international SEO page, and every result we publish is documented at teramok.us/results.
